The Sea to Sky Potters Guild (formerly the Whistler Pottery Club) was established in 2002 by a group of passionate clay enthusiasts. The club began as a way for like minded potters to connect and grow through workshops and mentorship and for beginners and advanced potters to get inspired with other artists in a creative environment.
For years the club met every Tuesday evening at the Whistler Secondary School art room and grew into a vibrant clay community. The Guild was able to offer beginners classes, put on community shows as well as three hugely successful Empty Bowls events, raising over $4000 each year towards our local food banks.
Unfortunately, the High School is no longer able to host the SSPG and this has left many of our members without a space to practice their craft for the last two years.
The Guild has been actively pursuing other options to try to find a space, but this has been a difficult task due to the nature of working with clay and the specific needs that would be required in the clay studio.
We do not currently have a venue for workshops, classes or drop-ins, but we are supportive of the plans for the Summit Centre in Whistler.
